DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

The new alignment of US 20 in Delaware County, Iowa has made it necessary to correct the Primary Road Numbering System.

Iowa 116 begins at the US Government Fish Hatchery approximately 2 ½ miles southeast of Manchester and travels northerly to the junction of unsigned Iowa 947 approximately 2 miles east of Manchester, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Remove Iowa 116 in Delaware County as follows:

Beginning at the US Government Fish Hatchery at a point near the center of Section 2‑T88N‑R5W; thence in a northwesterly direction to a point near the S ¼ Corner of Section 35‑T89N‑R5W; thence north to a point near the N ¼ Corner of Section 35‑T89N‑R5W.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the removal of Iowa 116 in Delaware County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
